I found this earlier today and used the "wide range" test for my daughter. It was extremely simple and took just a few minutes. I know it is not a solid overview of her reading skills, but I was wondering if anyone else had ever used it to get a feel for what reading level their child was at.

I've never used that, but I have used Let's Go Learn.  They have math and reading assessments for $20.  They send out a pretty nice report.

well i was going to check it out but the link is broken. I don't really stress waht reading level my daughter is at. She is seven and I think she reads fairly well. She likes to read the American Girl books, although they take her a while, and she reads out load to her little sister all the time.
