My car is 4 years old but I feel that if my car is hit, I dont want it fixed with used parts. If my motor blew up I wouldnt go to a junk yard to buy an old motor. I want my bumper replaced with a new one, if it wasnt hit by their client I wouldnt not be here. Can someone give me any heads up, I am located in Texas.

  1. The after market parts used to repair your vehicle are warrantied.  New ones are not.  Why would you want a factory reject "new" part on your car?

  2. Because of changes in car lengths and shapes, the repair shop might not be able to find you a new bumper; however, they cannot just put a damaged bumper on your vehicle.. Your vehicle has to look just as good as it did before the accident.  Even through your vehicle is just 4 years old, there might not be any new parts for it in auto storage.

  3. Yes, you can choose where your vehicle is repaired. No, you are not entitled to a new bumper.  Your four year old bumper was not new.  You can ask for a new bumper and the insurance company  will deduct for betterment.  You can also ask for a salvage part(which you are getting).  You are not entitled to a new part unless their are no other parts available.
