Dont Schools have to Check ID's for Visitors?

I am a little appalled and wondering if I should contact the principal. With many attacks on our school, I think schools should have a basic security plan

I just visited my old high school to get a letter of recommendation from a former teacher for law school, i went to the visitors office to check in and all they did was right my name down, i didnt have to show ID or anything else. Keep in mind this school had 4000 students.

at the least they should have made me show identification and check in when I visited with the time and date and when I leave I should check out to make sure no one unauthorized is running around the school.

So should I file a complaint?

  1. The school's have staff that  must be protectedted--we can say let the kids run rampant--good luck to them--we'll get them before they get us--we run societythey don't run a high school

  2. good point. you don't have to file a complaint, if you familiar with the principle you can talk face to face with him. make some suggestion for him/her.

  3. Uhh my daughter's high school has a lot less then that, and they ask for your drivers license.  Yup I would say something.
