  1. .......I understood your sentiments plainly because I came from an open country where weather is very good, where places are mostly green and not sand, where there are lots of cinemas, where there are malls that you can enter without stopping you, where there are places to hang out after work, where women don't wear hijab, women are driving and women are working just like any other men (women even hold the top positions in the company), etc. In short, every individual is free to do what he/she thinks is right, even in marriage where love is the main ingredient and not physical beauty and money alone......What I suggest for you, take a vacation, take a trip outside your country, to lessen your boredom and feel how it is to be free......then tell me, is it much better, is it much fulfilling or its the other way around......

  2. Hmmm, sure there are days that can be boring, but also days that can be so exciting.

But I guess it is what one makes of their every days lives.

I will give you some ideas that can recover your boredom quite quickly:

    a. arrange with friends dessert trips- not just to thammama, but beyond

    b. Spend a weekend at a farm

    c. Take up diving: you can arrange that so you can do that every month or more often

    d. Join a group on environmental concerns and issues for ksa. There are many.

    e. Join as a volunteer to a local charity, so you can get to know your society better

    f. Make friends from all over the world, as saudi arabia is an international place- you will learn a lot and teach a lot.

    g. Try to save some money to go to nearby places---where there is no need for a visa:))) like dubai, so you can update yourself on the latest cinema releases/concerts and so on

    h. Are you interested in art? You can join groups in ksa that work on traditional music instruments and folk songs as well as painting or calligraphy

    i. Join groups in embassies, where you can learn about other cultures, like languages, music events and so on. There are also groups on joint research such as in archeology exploring the history and findings in ksa.

    j. Now you have to think some more :)))

Not, it is not your fault at all! I hardly believe that, but what I am trying to say is that you have to find a way round all this.

If there is no cinema, you need to arrange to go to Dubai or Bahrain more often or arrange cinema nights with your friends at home or in an estiraha?

If your friends cannot come, you need to find a way for them to visit or go to them.

If there is no Disneyland: oh well! Only the US, France and maybe Japan has one?...there are not many of them around the world.

When there is a will there is a way;)

  3. Yeah, I agree with Just Me. Same old crummy B@$stard whose jealous of Saudis. Its okay, maybe he should come to Jeddah,eh? yes, if youre smart enough and sober enough, I could probably take you to my grand father's beachside penthosue in Durrat Al-Arous. Welcome to $33 Million (USD) of goodness.  Oh, bootlegged DVDs run for about 3 to 10 riyals (thats $1 to $3 for a movie), thats why I have avout 400 movies. How much do you have, white boy? Oh, the number of Saudi cars is 6 times the size of the population, in the US, its 1 car for every 2.78 people. So sad, but true. Im not comparin wealth by cars and homes, but to argue with a moron, you have to step down to his level, no?

  4. Hi again,

Since you change your name a lot, but always sound the same..... you should name yourself Oscar the grouch. If you dont know who that is, google "Oscar the grouch"

To answer your question, sure, only in Riyadh though, not that much in Jeddah or Al-Khubar.

  5. Maybe you should take a trip to Jarir bookstore and check out the books about Saudi Arabia.  There are books full of 1 day desert treks to take you to interesting places.  I'd love to do that.  There's a lot of history and culture here.  Maybe since you're Saudi you should respect and learn about your own culture instead of thinking everything is so boring.  There's also a history museum in Riyadh.  I haven't been there yet, but I'd love to go.  Be grateful you live in KSA.  Maybe Allah should have made you born in a poor African nation where you don't have food or water.  Then maybe you would appreciate all the good that's around you.

Or, if you aren't so negative, maybe you can find some friends to hang out with.

Or, a part time job might do you some good.  Or, there's always volunteer work.

  6. Hi Guys, why do we react to this person at all. Ignore him totally and hopefully he will disappear from here.Gigi, you are taking him too seriously, he does not deserve such an elaborate answer. He is completely negative and ask absolutely silly questions, I think and feel that he is one of those persons who refuse to grow up.
