  1. I agree it should be limited.  There are some obvious tries out there and the video ref is still being used.

The only upside is it gives the players some time to rest.

  2. C'mon now.... I remember years ago that "Gus" Phil "p***y" Gould wanted the video ref in when the Footy Show(on Thursday nites) was in its peak, as he thought because of the NFL in the US of Suckin' A.  And since last year, he's been against it.  So sorry Gus, it's here to stay.  Yeah.... it stops all the Bitchin' as well, with certain calls too.

  3. lol i agree with that

  4. There should b limits on how much the vid ref gets used bcuz it is slowing down the game way 2 much and it is killing league. Like 2 have only a certain amount of challenges on stripped/dropped balls ect

  5. yes.....really ruining the pace of the game and even after most tries they go to the vid ref. I believe if there is only a serious problem, then they should take it to the video ref. If during the play the ref or the touchies couldn't find anything really wrong then they should avoid it.

  6. Not a bad answer Hotsurfi,i agree it should be limited but i also think it is a neccesary part of the game.

  7. it easy to say that wen your sitting on your lounge chair, but reffs dont get the same view as u do, unfortunatly the vid reff does slow the game down, but best make the right decision dont u think? if i was going to axe vid reff in any instance it would b at scrums/stripping rule.

  8. The video ref should only be used when called for and only for viewing tries. They should not be able to slow down the video for 1/12th of a second.

  9. the video ref should only be use in goal to view a certain try.if the ref cannot make decision during the game.then the nrl may aswell redundant all whistle blowers and just replace it with a video ref. but video ref do made mistakes aswell.

  10. yeah its making the game boring as h**l.. especially when they call the video ref in for rakes & drop balls & stop the whole game just to check stupid stuff

  11. i agree a lot of the time when they go to video ref its not necessary but atleast it is usually ruled appropriatly...

  12. There's so much bitching & complaining over  things in RL these days  I don't blame any Ref for calling on the video ref.

  13. yes, yes , yes GOD YES!!!

i never liked it from the start, it stops the essence of excitement about the try in the corner or the crossfield bomb lets go back to the ingoal judge.

and as for video ref in the play the ball that should have never been introduced in the first place.

  14. The Video Referee is there to assisst the central referee just like the Touch Judges. Limiting the Video Referee is like saying to the touch judges that they can only judge at goal every 5 minutes.

  15. definetely..the refs rely on it way too much when they should be making the decisions themselves, i especially hate when a team scores a great try then it has to ruin it all by going to the video ref and then it ends up being a try awarded anyway, it kinda takes away the whole mood.

  16. i reckon wen the ref makes a call just get on with the game instead of looking for a strip and a penalty.

    its ruining the game

  17. Most field refs are too scared to make a ruling otherwise they will be reffing park footy next week!  Get the touch judges to watch the game a bit more and report to the ref.  In goal judges should be used again.

  18. It cuts down on a lot of the aggro concerning whether the Ref is one eyed etc.
