  1. Nixon was a hero too but Mccain served his country and paid dearly for it making him a hero also.

  2.    theres a reason other vietnam vets are calling  him "songbird" mccain.

  3. No. Do you know how many people the Viet Cong killed?

and it was Republican that ended the war. It was Democrats that started it.

  4. I am standing up and applauding you. So true.

  5. What sicken me is the fact that they have to go back to the Vietnam war to find something positive that he has accomplished. My brother served in the same war, but that does not mean that he would make a good president.

  6. And John Kerry didn't exploit Vietnam the war in his candidacy.  And you were obviously a Kerry supporter at that time.

Wait for it, wait for it....hypocrite!!

  7. YES!! The republicans have no winning argument besides McCain was in the army . Its totally not fair to compare Obama to McCain when it comes to this because Obama was literally 3 when McCain was fighting for the country. Also I have friends, family members and a boyfriend that's fighting in this war that doesn't mean I would vote for them if they ran for president. If that's all the republicans have to go off of then everyone that's in the armed forces can run for president. I want a political person to be in office someone that knows the policies and cares about what happens to americans not someone that has no commen sense. I thank McCain for fighting for us yes but that does not make him a leader and that fact that he uses that as his fighting argument is pathetic.

  8. So Nixon is your Hero.

  9. I am" sickensed"!

    By your lack of punctuation!!!!

  10. Yes!  Improper grammar and sentence structure is a HUGE pet peeve of mine!

  11. The hero is the man that does what his country tells him to do regardless of whether or not he agrees with the politics.  You have a h**l of a lot of nerve criticizing him for what he has done when you yourself would never have the heart or integrity to do the same. He went above and beyond and deserves nothing less than respect.

  12. He is not a War Hero, he is a survivor, I know I will get many thumbs down for this, but it is true. That does not make him material to be a President. My brother served 23 years and was in Vietnam twice. He got a Purple Heart, but that does not mean he can be President. McCain does not seem to have a vision- experience  has it place, but without a vision to change, things will remain the same.

  13. You sicken me its because of people like McCain that your sitting here flapping your jaw.

  14. I am not sure if you are stupid or just grossly naive.

  15. You have no clue.. He is a hero..

  16. Nope...

  17. The heroes were the brave soldiers that fought in that war.  The saddest part is the way they were treated when they returned home--if they made it.   ***

  18. I didn't serve in Vietnam I ended up being 1y.. My friends that served said they were happy for me that I didn't have to serve.. Vietnam was a nation that couldn't rule itself.. The US actually had personell in Vietnam before 1960..  The rest of my story was that I became unemployed  industry had moved out of my Illinois town.. So to satisfy my need to support my family.. I took a job in a correctional facility.. The facility where I would work was the site of a riot in 1979 where 4 officers were killed.. I started in 81..So, of course the riot was on the top of inmates and officers minds.. Early in that year a superviser was killed in the kitchen. Later in  '83 I was near fatally stabbed by 2 inmates.  I was hospitalized and had 6 months to heal and return to work.. Of course at first I was frightened to act myself..  Management showed no sympathy nor empathy for what I had went through..  One officer used my name  blank stabbed last name.  Anyway,  I retired in 02 working 19  more years.  Many of my friends had seen sights in VietNam that were hinted but never expressed..One of my friends took his life because he couldn't shake whatever was eating him up in that war..  McCain probably had it easier than most because his father was an Admiral..  But what I'm trying to say is he enlisted in the Navy  the same as I took a job as a prison guard.  You know that there is a chance that you may get hurt or come into an unfavorable situation.. I had to get over my ordeal and what I can't understand is if this was such a bad situation being a POW  in Nam why would you be a war hawk and then not vote for the GI bill , vote against the torture bill.. I guess he'll not have to endure another capture and he knows that maybe as Commander and chief that he can send many abled bodied young men into situations of peril..  McCain has a medal but has not learned any lesson from  his captivity.  He only uses the fact that people call him a hero.  He uses his vote in the senate  for the greater good of big buisines , oil and are war machine.. Not for us common people who have to deal with plant closings because jobs have been shipped overseas which his party has help orchestrate.  I have no respect for John *** McCain I can't understand how he can have respect for himself.  Let alone present himself as a man capable of being  a president of these United States.
