  1. yeah. They should make every game he ever played in illegal. They should also make every game that anyone ever played in while under the influence of PED's, steroids, cocaine, alcohol, pain killers, or anything else invalid. Plus they should take blood samples of every player every single day just to make sure that they are not using. They should put every living ex-ballplayer on a lie detector and ask them if they ever used anything illegal-if they did they should invalidate every game that they ever played in. The should also dig up any ex player that has died and do some kind of test on them too. After all of that they should rewrite the record books.

OR they could just continue fixing the problem like they are right now, and move on

  2. they don't know he took steroids

    there is no proof

    so no

  3. even though almost everyone associated with baseball suspects that he did it(and i personally think that there are people within baseball that KNOW that he did it), they have no prohibitive proof and therefore cannot strip him of any records...however, in the court of public opinion, no one thinks of him as the home run king

  4. no beaucse that be unfair as well to all other players who got in all of fame and did steriods and dont get it taken away.

    and there no proof

  5. they dont know for sure if he took roids or not

both sides of it have pretty good arguments

i dont think they should take away the record though. let it stand until there is clear cut proof he took roids.

  6. Why??? As someone put it to me:

Babe Ruth was the Home Run Champion of the segeration era.

Hank Aaron was the Home Run Champion of the greenie era (as players were popping speed before the game)

Barry Bonds was the Home Run Champion of the steroid era.

Someone will be the Home Run Champion of the whatever era that comes next.

  7. He was accused but hasn't been proven to be true.

  8. If they knew he took steroids and could prove it, then they would have already banned him from baseball (including the HOF) and he would be in jail. Plus, it is the policy of major league baseball not to erase stats and records. His home runs still happened. Even if they someday prove that he broke the rules by using steroids, the home run stats still stand.

Pete Rose was banned from baseball for breaking the rules, but he still holds the record for most career hits. This is because the MLB has held to their policy not to erase or nullify stats under any circumstance. Even if those home runs were hit after steroid use, they still happened and the records should (and will be) kept historically accurate.

I do however feel that if they ever prove that he took steroids, they will add an asterisk to the record books and the next closest person will be considered the legitimate record holder.

  9. they no or they know?

  10. nope because there is absolutely no way to verify when he started taking roids, when he stopped, and what games he played while juiced up. and this doesnt just go for bonds but to every single other mlb player too which would be quite a large # to be honest. bonds is taking the blame for everyone who took steroids because he is the biggest star. it's not fair to bonds if they just scapegoat him and clemens while everyone else gets off scott free. besides we all know that past HOFers have done something illegal whether it be taking drugs or scuffing up the balls or putting c**p on their hands, most players do something to gain an advantage.

  11. The issue here is not whether he did steroids, but whether he was aware when he did them. He says he wasn't aware and right now, that's what his purgery case is all about. He has admitted to taking them though.

If he knew he was taking them when he did, I'm all for taking away his record. If he's telling the truth, it should be his.

Right now, Bonds should remain the home run king until they know the truth of the situation.

  12. since they didnt test for certain steriods untill a few yrs ago  there is really nothing they can do

  13. Maybe I'm the only one...but none of the players that took steroids did anything wrong. Baseball had no rules against it.

Its like if there were no laws against breaking into someones house and stealing a stereo. Everyone knows stealing a stereo is wrong, but you can't get punished. Then the law changes and all the people who stole anything now have to go to jail.

yeah. steroids are wrong, but none of the people who did steroids should be punished for doing something that was allowed by the MLB.

  14. i think they should legalize steroids for pros....but to answer your question, no i dont think they should...he did hit them (i hate saying that cuz i hate the guy)

  15. Here a just a few other names to chew on that we should do "somthin" about:  Rodger, Mark, Ken, Jason, Jose.  See what I'm getting at?  Like most things in life policy is made after the problem is discovered.  To think that you could go back in time and somehow make right what clearly was the "wild-wild west" period of baseball is crazy.  We only have hearsay on who did and didn't, when they did or didn't and most importantly the effect that had on the game (think about it if the pitcher was on the same thing as the hitter who has the advantage?).  What is best is to move forward, just like in life.  Or you can continue to hate people like Barry Bonds...just don't forget to hate everyone connected to that era just as equally.

  16. no. because it wasn't against the rules if and when he did use.

  17. Well they do not know that he used them yet but it is pretty obvious he did. If he is convicted of using them his record should not be counted and there should be an asterisk if they do decide to call him the home-run king. In my book hank aaron is the home run king.

  18. ya. idk..doesnt bother me

  19. no. i think they should just leave it like it is. no matter if he took the steroids or not, he still broke the record. hopefully someone like alex rodriguez will break it with out using them, but regardless of how it was done, the record was still broken.
