Don`t you just hate taxi drivers ( UK ) ?

Nearly every taxi driver i see, they never indicate to show where they are going, they just change lanes when ever they like and expect you to move out the way for them.

And they park where there not supposed to.Just because there on the roads all day long they have their own rules.

Is it just me or does this happen to others?

  1. Hmmm...you gotta admit though, there's no finer sight at 2.30 in the morning when you're cold, wet and maybe just a little 'tired and emotional' than a fast black with his orange light on heading your way......

  2. And just what do you think that taxi drivers have to deal with all day?

    Incompetent drivers

Truck drivers who think THEY own the road

Princesses who think THEY own they road

    Rude customers

    Rude drivers

Passengers who don't know where they are going

Customers who call for cabs and are not where they are supposed to be

I must agree not using directional indicators, is not only rude, but irresponsible no matter who is doing it, but especially for professionals.

However, you should bare in mind as well that every moment in this business is money lost, or earned and the amount that a driver brings home at the end of the day is dependent on the factor of time (not to say it takes even one second more to switch the indicator on or off, but in repeated rapid motion, often incidentals are forgotten).

The primary objective in driving a cab is; to pick up your passenger as quickly as possible, transport them to their destination as quickly as possible and have them disembark as quickly as possibly, so as to allow the driver to proceed/pick up to the next fare (passenger).

Although I can not speak for the cab drivers in the U.K, it's been my experience as a professional driver and manager for several cab/taxi companies, that the amount of irresponsible drivers in the profession is far less in direct relation to the amount of non professional drivers on the road.

It's also been my experience, throughout life, to take note that it is most frequently those who do not extend courtesies, or operate by the means they expect everyone else to operate under (with the exception of themselves) who will most often be the ones with complaints. This goes for not only in driving, but in all manner of interaction with others.

  3. it is about time they got a driving licence ,i have a friend who is a taxi driver and i keep offering him driving lessons

  4. I know how you feel love, my problem is cows on the outbacks, not only do they not indicate where they are going, i also get **** on to, and bull rushed by stinger.

  5. Its because they are developed in test tubes and don't know how to move forward and upward by themselves!

  6. NO

taxi drivers in the whole are professional driver as in other road users there are some bad ones but the good out number the bad

don't for get   A TAXI DRIVER IS NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS

  7. Lol to this one, my fella is an ex-taxi driver & he bugs me when he is driving, I tell him if I was behind him or a pedestrian I would border on road (or path) rage. He seems to think that the indicators are 'optional extras' & rarely uses them. Saying that, there are plenty of drivers not in taxis who think that you are psychic and should know which way they are planning to go.

  8. If one really shows examples of bad driving, note the number of the car (licence number) and contact the local Taxi Licencing department of your Council

They will not always be able to do anything immediately (unless you have witnesses) but they WILL note the complaint.

The Taxi drivers can lose their licence if enough complaints are made.

I have done so myself in the past (one guy went the LOOOONG way 'round and tried to charge me way too much)

  9. totally agree. they think they own the road. some of them have attitude problems too. but obviously there not all the same.

  10. yes your right they do seem to drive by a different set of rules than the rest of us.

city centres are the worst places , they just pull out on you without warning or sttop in the middle of a road

if we did that we,d get nicked but the police seem to accept it from them?

  11. Its just how they are, they get people to where they are going, and fast, safty isnt an issue, they are taught to be agressive drivers.
