  1. louise, your answer was brilliant.

  2. I kind of agree - I think theirs a flaw in the law over how you define 'sexism'. I mean, how far can it go? Biology? But then if we did that, the women would just start moaning for yet more reasons... It's a no win situation; Respecting females is obviously a priority for a man, but this shouldn't allow women to get around loop holes of the law because they are indeed 'women'.

Ahh, can't beat a good manly rant!

  3. I have yet to see a more than a couple of feminists make absolutist statements about men, except in regards to their anatomy.

  4. As long as they get back to the kitchen in time to cook their men folk a nice supper, whats the problem I say. Tip top.

  5. Feminism shouldn't be sexist, but what you usually end up seeing are the most vocal "man-haters" the planet has ever seen. i'm not sure why we need a "movement" so that women can be empowered. I'm not even sure what objectifying women actually means, but I don't think I do it. If they don't want to be objectified, then why put yourself in a situation where you can be? Believe me, my wife is a strong woman: opinionated, strong-willed, self motivated, knows what she wants and how to get it, the kind of type-A personality that you find running a major corporation. she looks at the feminist group like they are a bunch of freaks. We talked about it once after seeing a news piece on TV about a place that did bikini car washes, the place was being protested. she commented that she had never seen a woman objectified that didn't allow it. If you don't want to be treated like a second-class citizen, get off the ******* couch and quit acting like one.

BTW- if a man can be sexist, you can bet your rosy red *** that women can, too. You can't sit their and say that we are a bunch of pigs (I know some), but the vast majority of us are honest to and respectful of women. I was raised to respect women, do be polite and courteous, and treat women "like a lady", but g&* d@#% it, if you are going to call me a pig and say it is impossible for a woman to be at LEAST as horrible as you say men are, then I don't think I will do it anymore. If I'm going to be branded as a pig, through no fault of my own, I might as well live up to the reputation, don't you think? How's that for men are pigs. Think of that the next time you need a pack mule to help you move because you can't pick up the furniture, and you alienated all of your pig friends, and they're hanging out with women that like men for who and what they are, taking the good with the bad, and not judging them based on one man that they allowed to make them feel like less than they are.

That part was for the answer below mine, who believes that women can't be sexist, like saying blacks can't be racist, and hitler was just misunderstood.

  6. ya,feminists are hypocrites

  7. Some are, Yes

  8. Yes i do actually.

  9. Feminism shouldn't be about hating men but about being respected as being equal. Feminists may disagree and use it as an excuse to bash men

  10. Women can demonstrate prejudice towards men. In reality, they could discriminate against them in smaller, personal spheres, but as society is still male dominated this could not be extrapolated onto a larger scale.  Women do not wield sufficient societal power. Sexism is predicated on power, privilege and historical/cultural discrimination endemic throughout society, by this token it is impossible for women to be sexist.

Oh! it so nice to see how many on here, don't mind women really, as long as you don't over step your mark, and if you do offer an opinion which distinguishes you from a doormat then hateful sexist invective is hurled at you, with a healthy dollop of lesbophobia too.  Nah! you are right no need for feminism, it's dead...lol

And for the record, feminist argument can't be reduced to the overly simplistic men are pigs!  For the hard of thinking, explain once more, feminists are challenging the idea that by virtue of being born male,  that fact alone, is not enough to justify inequality between the genders. Men as an entire gender, not someone's son, or husband or brother who may be quite decent cos he treats women with respect, but men as a WHOLE gender have enjoyed a status and privilege in society which has not been shared by women, based on factors that are either myths; they are cleverer than us, or on factors that no longer matter and are arbitary anyway, like they are physically stronger, which really matters, when pushing a pen in an office and not killing a mammoth with an axe!

  11. No, but I think it is understandable. I would be a feminist had I been born a woman

But I was born and man, and run the world, so, hey!

  12. you don't even need to ask, the answer is yes feminism is sexist and full of hate and contempt

  13. Yes, it seems a lot are.  The ones that go around touting it all day long and attacking people drive me bonkers.

The ones that just believe in the ideals and keep quiet about it unless they have a real reason to speak up about something are fine.

Unfortunately, the few ruin it for the many, therefore I associate feminists with the brash, obnoxious minority.

  14. i can't be arsed listening to feminists

they say they want to be judged on their brains, then they talk endless shite.

save it for your lezbofeminist college tutor, sweeties.

  15. Actually they don't. That's a common misconception. Guys can be feminists too, meaning they support equal rights. Feminists can be man-haters, but you don't have to be a man-hater to be a feminist.

  16. Some feminists are sexists.

    Not all feminists are sexists.

And certainly not all sexists are feminists.

Ultimately, 'feminist' is simply a label that some people choose to apply or not apply to themselves.  To many people, it means the same thing that you describe yourself to be (many would claim that you yourself are a 'feminist' because you value gender equality).  But there are others who are openly sexist who also choose to call themselves 'feminists,' and still others who believe that the word refers to sexists and so deliberately do not call themselves 'feminists.'  Ultimately, the definition of the word is up to the individuals who choose to use it (or not use it) as a label.

So, to avoid the murky definition of the term 'feminist,' perhaps this would be better stated as simply saying that you don't appreciate female sexists.  In which case, I heartily agree with you (and I would extend that by saying that I don't appreciate sexists of any sort).

  17. Nope I dont.

    Have a nice day.

  18. "because they go on about how men are pigs"

Have you heard a feminist say that, or did you just listen to Rush Limbaugh?

  19. Fairness, respect and equality - that doesn't sound sexist to me. :-)

  20. "Bohoo I am a boy, a handful of old birds with bad haircuts are telling me I am a pig".

Get over it. Feminism is as dead as a dodo. Ever open the newspaper and see gratuitous male nudity and sob-storied about men who had palstic surgery in order to get a wife? Thought not :)
