i have traveled a lot and still do.

in western countries if a person falls ill or gets injured on the streets eurpeans most often ring the ambulance instead of getting directly involved in careing for the sick person fallen on the street

Go to the east and thats the opposite. if a person falls ill on the streets lots of people will help you directly. in villages when a person falls ill they will carry you , take you into their homes and care for you

(my personal experience when traveling through india, pakistan, sri lanka, bangaladesh and nepal)

Dont you think we europeans can learn lots from the people of the east?

  1. There are countries that do not provice First Aid Courses to its population. And there is no one responsable for it. The European Union does not check on that. There are Factories, Companies.. that does not have a First Aid Officer, the workers are collapsing and they just call the ambulance. If there is anyone that sees this message, pass it to the EU. So they can check the latest countries admited in the EU.

  2. Who could not learn from another? I wont get too much into that but you seem to have a concern for it so get involved in the process. Take up arms head to the front line and show people what they need to see. No ones gonna do it for you right its your idea kick some doors in and make your voice heard!

  3. Yes we can, but they could learn a heck of a lot from the western world as well. The door swings both ways on that one my friend.

  4. The countries that you mentioned are some of the poorest and most under developed in the world.  For the sake of playing Devil's Advocate have you considered that for these people ambulances are simply not an option?  I'm studying Asian Studies at university, so I definitely have a respect for the people of the East but I think this is an important perspective.

  5. I agree. It is usually the poor folk who open their homes to strangers and are ever ready to share their food with them as well. I think they follow the rule of honouring the God within each individual moreso than in the West where life has become too commercialized and competitive, in general that is. It must have been a wonderful experience for you to travel through all those countries! One can learn so much from experiencing other cultures. Bravo!

  6. You should watch Half Nelson. It deals with how we Westerner's view the world and how un-friendly it is to philosophies on balance.

I mean, not too long ago in the movies the bad guys were bad guys and the good guys were good guys, not a mixture of both.
