  1. Yes . The focus should be in getting more young players into rugby clubs from those 100 or so IRB rugby member Countries  .. That;s the way to get each Country already playing the game stronger in their domestic competitions and in turn builds depth over the entire playing groups ..

    Pretty hard to play Rugby in some countries currently not involved with the game .. Some of them are flat out just finding a field to play on let alone enough players to make up a few teams ..

  2. there are over 100 nations which play the game but most struggle to compete as the game there isn't as advanced.

  3. Do you mean more depth, a higher pool base of countries with similar skills that could challenge each other, rahter than the standard five really outstanding countries to choose from.  Then I would agree with you.  Look at basketball they have depth.  Why can't we.

  4. Well, there are officially 95 countries ranked by the IRB. From New Zealand at 1 to Bosnia & Herzegovina at 95. Not sure if there is any rugby in the other 100+ countries of the world. But I think if you have a look at the non-playing countries, it will probably be countries where survival is more important than sport. Rather focus on the players and clubs in playing countries, and get more people involved there.

  5. Over a hundred countries play rugby which is good for the game.Its played in all the continents  if more countries were to play i think that in places where rugby is a no.6 or 7 choice sport,it would struggle and not be competitive on the world stage.No team likes 100-145pts to nil score against them by The All Blacks or SouthAfrica.but a structured competition would be great for  these countries who would get experience and would be able to compete against teams of similar calibur , then  in the future,they would be able to play against the top tare teams.Im Glad 2011 W.Cup is in New Zealand and not Japan ,it would bring the world to us {you'd be suprised how many people do not know where New Zealand is}

  6. There are a lot of nations playing the game. There's close to 100 countries ranked by the IRB.

    I just wish more people would play the game. It's a cool game.

    Sadly I don't think the way the WC is currently structured will actually lead to more kids wanting to play the game. Having the cup in NZ next time round certainly won't help - should have gone to Japan !

    Edit: Actually Sam I am pretty sure most people currently walking the planet don't know where NZ is ! And they could not care less. That's just one more reason why Japan should have gotten the WC.
