Donte Greene may not play for Brooklyn Nets after all

Donte Greene who had reportedly agreed to a deal to join the Brooklyn Nets has suffered from an ankle injury thus putting his agreement in jeopardy. According to his agent, Chris Luchey, Greene’s expected signing
with the Nets has temporarily been put on hold because of the ankle injury.
“Greene’s expected signing with Nets this week now on hold due to pending surgery on ankle with some type of fracture, “said Luchey. Greene’s agent was not very clear on what kind of ankle injury he has suffered
or the seriousness of it. However, this does put the non-guaranteed deal at risk of collapsing.
After having spent his entire career being unsuccessful with the Sacramento Kings, Greene would have hoped for a fresh start in Brooklyn but this recent injury does push him a step back.
Minnesota Timberwolves looking to ship a guard for big man

According to latest reports, the Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to add a suitable big man to play as a back up to Kevin Love. The Wolves pursued Anthony Tolliver for a while, but the player was not willing
to accept the only offer Minnesota had on the table - a veteran’s minimum pay.
These recent setbacks has got the Wolves management thinking about shipping one of their guards in order to create more cap space. No exact details have come forward as to which guard will the Wolves would be
looking to part with. But a few of the players can be ruled out as they mean a great value to the organization.
The Wolves are highly unlikely to part with Ricky Rubio – a point guard who holds the key to their franchise restructuring - while the newly signed Brandon Roy and Alexey Shved are also unlikely to be moved away.
This means that the Wolves will consider, J.J. Barea, Luke Ridnour or Malcolm Lee. Barea’s current contract is worth $14.5 million and three seasons while Ridnour is owed $8.6 million for two years. Out of the
three, Lee remains the only player who is currently on a minimum contract and can be on his way out of Minnesota.
