Dontpaytheferryman tipped to win Racing Again On Friday 25th May Claiming Stakes
Dontpaytheferryman is tipped to win the Racing Again On Friday 25th May Claiming Stakes at Catterick in England on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. The winner of the class-6 event will walk away with a cash prize of £1,704.
A total of eight runners have been attracted towards the race, which is scheduled to start at 18:40 GMT, and their names are as follows: Dontpaytheferryman, Flying Applause, Hidden Glory, Eijaaz, King Fingal, Labroc, Dimashq and Lucky For Some.
The going will be good to soft and the overall distance to cover will be 1 mile, 3 furlongs and 214 yards, which will test the stamina of all participants to some extent.
Looking at the experience and overall performances of Dontpaytheferryman, the bookmakers have awarded him with pretty decent odds. He is in good rhythm at the moment, thus will attract a lot of bets from the punters today.
The seven-year-old gelding has taken part in 59 events until now, winning 14 of them and finishing runner up on six occasions. Moreover, he has also secured the third spot on 12 times, which shows that he is fully capable of fighting for race victories.
The Brian Ellison’s trainee was unable to make an impression in his most recent race, as he finished 16 overall. He was not the favourite to win, but was expected to challenge his opponents.
However, Dontpaytheferryman disappointed one and all with his performance last time around. He will need a stronger effort in order to finish on top of the table at Catterick today.
Despite being unable to deliver a solid show last time, today’s favourite gelding is carrying decent momentum, as he finished first in his penultimate outing. He will be partnered by Paul Pickard, who has won quite a few races at this level, but does not
have an impressive strike rate.
Other than the race favourite, Flying Applause will also be the one to watch out for today, as he is in good form at the moment. He has also got plenty of experience, thus is likely to make things difficult for his opponents.
The Roy Bowring’s trained runner has entered 59 events, winning 10 of them until now. In addition to that, he has also secured the runner up spot on five occasions.
