Don´t you think that Nadal shouldn´t have participated in Hamburg so that he can be fit for Roland Garros?

I am just so worried about him..That blister looks pretty bad but i also know that by not participating there he will loose a lot of points and there is a big chance that Novak will take his place. But if he plays here too there is a great chance that he won´t be perfectly fit for the French Open. He is too ambitious and he wants to do them all.. I don´t know what to say..It would be just a shame if he can´t give 100% at the French Open.. :(Anyway.. he probably knows what he is doing..:-??

  1. Rafa should have skipped Barcelona and concentrated on Rome and prepared better for Hamburg, because this is a masters series events. There is one thing also which he could have avoided, that is, playing in doubles. He played in doubles in Barcelona and Monte Carlo, if I am not mistaken. It would be interesting to see how he responds to this situation. He will give 100% if he is injured or not injured, being the competitor he is. Even if he can somehow pull off this clay thing, he has a busy season ahead including Olympics. As far as Djoko is concerned, he is playing good and has a lot of confidence, so he is going to give Rafa a tough fight for the second position as of now.

  2. He'll have a week off between Hamburg and Roland Garros.  I'm sure he wouldn't be playing Hamburg if he thought it was going to ruin his chances for Roland Garros.

  3. Im really worried too. Hopefully his foot has healed :) I think deep down if it was that bad he would skip hamburg, he knows a lots at stake especially with the French coming up and the way the points system works :S Which still confuses me (novak doesnt deserve to be #2, not yet) lol Good luck to Rafa i got a good feeling he`ll win in Hamburg and do his best to prepare for the French Open, lets hope he wins his 4th title there!!! Vamos Rafa

  4. Well for a player like Rafa playing allot of tennis is better for him because it helps him be in form for the grandslams. But given that big blister on his toe, it probably wasn't the wisest idea for him to keep playing back to back tournaments. But maybe for Rafa this is best for him in his mind. But if it was me I'd be resting. Rafa is a warrior, he never lets anything keep him from going out and playing tennis, ever.

  5. He wants to play the warm up tournaments like Hamburg because...

Firstly its a warm up tournament. The best kind of training before a big tournament like Roland Garros is to play big matches in big tournaments with big players before. Thus, Hamburg is great for players. Gets the nerves out, you can feel how your game is. How you play points...

Then the points, money, ranking, and not losing a ranking fit in.

He doesn't want to play because of those blisters, because he doesn't want to be too tired before the Roland Garros...

He'll find his balance that fits him. Who knows, maybe he can heal super quick and is already ready to go. : ) no worries.

  6. yes and no...

yes so he can rest and cure that blister...

no so he can have a warm-up on clay before Roland Garros and by not participating he will lose 350 points making nole the new #2

hope he'll do fine in hamburg and especially in the French Open! vamos nadal!

  7. I don't think Nadal anticipated the chain of events that would lead him to his current predicament. I think he got overly ambitious with his schedule and now he's paying for it. If he doesn't play Hamburg or loses early Djokovic could take over the #2 ranking and would most likely be seeded #2 at the French Open. It's pretty much do or die for him at this point.

If Nadal took a week off instead of playing Barcelona the situation probably wouldn't be so bad.

However, I think he is doing the right thing by playing Hamburg. You never know what could happen. Hopefully he will win both Hamburg and the French Open.

  8. Rafa could probably get his foot cut off, get a new prosthetic one and still manage to dismantle the entire field at Roland Garros. I do not like him as a player, but he is amazing on the clay. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

  9. I don't know what's the deal with the rankings. Yes, they are important but not as important as being well and gunning for the real big tourneys like the GS and for rafa especially the Frenchy. I think if his foot hasn't healed it would be wise for him to skip Hamburg to be in tip-top form for the Frenchy and get his 4th win.
