Doonane Lad looking to win at Henlow – Standard Dup Preview
The A. Tuffin-trained blue dog, Doonane Lad, is expected to unleash a promising performance at Henlow track tonight, March 8 and win ‘March Standard Dup’ Open Race of 460m Flat distance.
The high-stakes contest of £150 prize money is scheduled to begin at 21:48 (GMT). The is likely to be a thrilling battle as each of the six runners including Millridge Duke, Doonane Lad, Ballymac Elite, Airport Bound, Springdale Hawk and Westmead Apollo
seem to be strong enough.
However, Doonane Lad stands above all in terms of talent and fighting spirit. Moreover, he possesses an outstanding track record.
The dashing dog has been winning with regular intervals since the very beginning of his career in October 2010.
Since the dawn of 2012, the son of Ballymac Maeve out of Tuftys Pearletta has won two big races so far. Both these victories have come with big margin of 2 ½ lengths.
This fresh success streak has perked up the dog’s morale to a great extent. At the moment, he seems to be in an offensive mode. The only thing he needs to do is to sustain his winning momentum and keep his nerves intact.
Doonane Lad’s chances to finish first are as high as 85 percent. However, two of his opponents named as Westmead Apollo and Millridge Duke are likely to give him enough tough time on the course.
After bagging a couple of consecutive victories during November 2011, Westmead Apollo went on to win a big race on December 22. C Grasso’s blue dog finished second and third in his last two outings.
The son of Droopys Vieri out of Westmead Aoifa will surely show a decent run tonight.
On the other hand, Millridge Duke has accomplished six victories in his short career. Dickinson’s black and white dog finished third each in his last three outings. He is likely to cause an upset in tonight’s contest.
With each of Doonane Lad’s two potential opponents being in good form, there is supposed to be a rip-roaring clash at Henlow tonight. Doonane Lad will have to fight to his utmost to seal success. Let us see how the talented dog fights. Good luck to him as
well as the other runners.
