Dopers should stay away from the Olympic Games: WADA Chief
President of the World Anti-Doping Agency John Fahey warned all the dopers to stay away from the biggest sporting event of the year, the 2012 Olympic Games.
His message was clear and loud in which he firmly stated that all the convicted dopers planning to appear in London should not push their luck and better withdraw from the event.
John cited that the International Olympic Committee will perform numerous tests, more than any other contest.
"I say this in the clearest way possible: if you are a doping athlete and you are planning to compete in London then you must withdraw from your Olympic team".
"These will be the most tested Games in Olympic history and doping athletes must know that they will be under the severe scrutiny of anti-doping officials from the moment they set foot in the Olympic Village".
"There has been a coherent effort to make London 2012 as 'clean' as possible and doping athletes should know that their chances of avoiding detection are the smallest they have ever been".
Doping is becoming a very serious problem in cycling and the management has tightened its screws to clean the sport from the felony.
One of the most shocking set-back in the current season was a two-year suspension for one of the strongest stage race cyclist, Alberto Contador.
The Spaniard was accused of using clenbuterol during the Tour de France 2010 and the jury handed over the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The judges were convinced that the cyclist used performance enhancing drug during the race and disqualified him from all the victories since the 2010 version of the French race.
The ban prevents him from participating in all the major cycling events of the race, including the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and the 2012 Olympic Games.
Contador will mark his return at the Eneco Tour and will also ride the Vuelta a Espana after his return at the race.
Lance Armstrong is the second big name and his drug involvement has really disturbed numerous cycling fans across the world.
The seven-time Tour de France is undoubtedly the best cyclist ever produced by America and his inclusion in such a scandal is really a big blow to American cycling.
