Some people have provided this link in answers which, among other things, shows the only Aussie done for Olympic doping was for a caffeine violation? How bizarre is that? Did he have super strong coffee LOL?

  1. Caffeine is no longer a proscribed substance in Athletics.

It can easily be taken in highly concentrated doses in tablet form, not necessarily as strong coffee, although over the years there have been disqualifications resulting from exactly that, which is in part why it is not now forbidden.

  2. Probably a few caffeine tablets more like. No Doz or similar. High doses would put the body into fight or flight response mode enhancing athletic ability.

  3. They don't ban caffeine at the Olympics anymore because it is difficult to determine the exact acceptable levels but apparently some athletes are abusing caffeine.

  4. there's a violation for alcohol as well. gosh, dun you perform worse when u are drunk or was the event called 'drunken fist' ?
