Dorell Wright says Andrew Bynum is best centre in the league right now; better than Dwight Howard even ....

Andrew Bynum coming to the Philadelphia 76ers has filled the whole city with excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season.
The Sixers played very well last season, qualifying for the playoffs and then defeating the top seeded Chicago Bulls in the first round, only to lose to the Boston Celtics in seven games in the next round. However, the Sixers drew
back the fans to basketball and the franchise, reminding of days when Allen Iverson was the face of the Sixers franchise.
The Sixers excitement reached a whole new level when the team added Andrew Bynum to the roster in a four team trade that saw Dwight Howard moving to the Los Angeles Lakers. Is is normal for any All Star player, the Sixers welcomed
Bynum with open arms, expecting him to lead the franchise into the future. And while there is no doubt that Bynum is a great addition to the team and will make the Sixers a better team next season, there are many who are putting too many expectations on him.
Speaking to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Dorell Wright, the new acquisition made by the Sixers this off season, had words of praise for his teammate, claiming that Bynum would help the Sixers rise back in the east next season.
“He’s going to need two defenders to stop him; I would say he’s the best big man in the NBA right now, hands down. He’s a guy that can give you baskets with his back to the basket; a guy who makes free throws at 7-feet. You’ve
just got to respect him,” said Wright.
Wright was asked if he was saying that Bynum was the best centre in the league because Dwight Howard was returning from a back surgery. And he replied in the negative, adding that Bynum was diverse in his game and brought so many
things to the table.
“No way, I’d say it any day. It’s because I know he can put his back to the basket and give us a basket and request a double team and make free throws. It’s his all-around game. Hopefully he can stay healthy and we can ride, he
can put us on his back and he can take us as far as we can go,” added Wright.
The expectations that people like Wright are placing on Bynum is what he needs to fear the most.
At 24, Bynum has a long way to go in the NBA and a lot to learn both on and off the court. His biggest challenge in Philadelphia will be handling the expectations of the fans and players, while not becoming too pressurized by it.
It will be a test of his character and strength along with his basketball skills, but that is what it takes to be the best in this league.
