Dorian Gandin wins Men’s 100m IM gold: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Dorian Gandin of CN Marseille won gold medal of the Men’s 100m Individual Medley (IM) on third day of 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Saturday, November 17.
Gandin showed no leniency to his opponents in the four-lap discipline as he went on a rampage and secured the crown. With his epic start and commendable pace, he remained marginally ahead of his challenger from the start and touched the wall for gold medal.
With his persistent efforts, he gained a body length lead over his opponents and transpired on the finishing end for gold medal by producing a nice time of 53.52 seconds.
The champion was followed by Giacomo Perez Dortona of CN Marseille, who stayed 0.94 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and transpired on the finishing end for silver medal by producing a time of 54.46 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Eddie Moueddene of Amiens Metropole Nat. who stayed only an inch away from his former finisher and occupied third spot of the event by producing a time of 54.63 seconds.
Moueddene was traced by Romain Landry of Dauphins Toulouse OEC, who was 0.08 seconds apart and posted a time of 54.71 seconds for fourth position.
Fifth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Taki M’Rabet of Stade Francais O Courbevoie, who was 0.73 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort 55.44 seconds.
M’Rabet was followed by Ganesh Pedurand of Dauphins Toulouse OEC, who was 0.38 seconds behind and clocked a time of 55.82 seconds for sixth position.
Similarly, Pedurand was traced by Quentin Coton of CN Antibes, who stayed 0.42 seconds slower and concluded his race in seventh place by touching the wall with the timing of 56.24 seconds.
Coton was chased by Gaetan Quirin of Dauphins Toulouse OEC, who was 0.18 seconds behind and posted a time of 56.42 seconds for eighth position.
In addition, Gandin was overjoyed with his title claiming efforts and articulated his desire of impressing his fans by accomplishing the same at the forthcoming 2012 World Short Course Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
