The Wolfsburg midfielder has insisted that it will be a two horse race in the Bundesliga this year and is targeting a place in the Brazilian national squad.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 has admitted that this year’s Bundesliga looks to be a two horse race between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. He claimed that the two sides have further strengthened their squads in the summer and have a very good chance
of winning the league at the end of the season.
Dortmund have pipped Bayern to win the league in the last two years and can complete a hat-trick of league titles if they win again this season. They also won the German Cup last season, beating the Bavarian giants in the final.
The midfielder is happy with his team also and feels that the manager has done enough to add some very talented players over the course of the summer. He is aiming for a top six finish at the end of the season and is confident
that his team will qualify for Europe.
“FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are the two strongest sides in my eyes. Directly behind them though are a whole host of teams, who have strengthened well over the summer and who will be competing for the top six spots.
We belong in this group and want to assert ourselves against our competitors,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the former Werder Bremen man is confident that he can receive a call-up from the national team manager. The player insisted that it will be great to play in the 2014 World Cup in his home country and is hopeful
of making a comeback for the national team.
“That's a big goal of mine. I'm still hoping to receive a call-up and I'm ready if that's the case. To be able to take to pitch during a World Cup in your own country is the greatest possible experience for any footballer,” the
former Juventus player concluded.
Diego has made a total of 33 international caps and has found the net on four occasions.
