The Black Yellows' team trainer stated that his side is prepared for their UEFA Champions League tie and that they have moved on from their disappointments of previous year.
Borussia Dortmund head coach Jurgen Klopp suggested that the Bundesliga outfit is ready to put their domestic performance into the UEFA Champions League this season. The German club was sent home from the group stages in 2010-11
UEFA Europa League and the next season failed to make it past the same stage again in the Champions League.
The BVB were able to register a single victory and a draw in their six matches last season and finished fourth. The Borussians remain unbeaten in their last 31 league games and have not been able to replicate their domestic domination
at the European stage, but Klopp has vowed to change that tradition this time around.
The veteran coach further added that they have now adjusted and cracked on how to go about in European games, and believe that we have rightfully qualified for the prestigious tournament. Therefore, the team is ready to compete
other top European teams and give them a run for their money.
"We now feel like we totally belong here, and we are ready for action," he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Westphalians' manager conceded that they are aware of Bayern Munich’s success in the competitions and considering they have fared well against the Bavarian giants, they can cope up with other world class clubs. This has given
them extra motivation to take on the sides in the group of death.
"The way Bayern Munich have got on in the Champions League, and the way we have played against Bayern and how stable we were there, that gives us good pointers," the 2008 DFL-Supercup winning manager finally concluded.
Nevertheless, Die Borussen are handed the most difficult group this season and have made their task even harder. The German side were looking to progress to the knockout stages in their third effort but that remains very tough
now.
Dortmund will take on Spanish side Real Madrid and Premier League champions Manchester City after the Ajax match and that will prove vital in their road to Euro success.
