The Bayern Munich CEO has expressed his displeasure after losing against Borussia Dortmund in a crunch battle as title hopes fade.
Bayern Munich chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has expressed his disappointment after losing against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday. The Borussians played host to the Munich giants on Wednesday, April 11, at the Signal Iduna Park
with the home side winning 1-0. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-Lewandowski-c31255 took his season’s tally to 20 with his solitary goal on the night in the 77th minute.
Rummenigge mentioned that his side had numerous chances in both the halves but were unlucky not to have scored from any of them. He enthused that the Black Yellows were superior on the night but insisted that Bayern should have
come out at least with a point having gone so close.
The CEO mused that had the Reds equalised in the 84th minute, the end result might have been different as all the momentum would have been with the visitors. Bayern earned a penalty moments after Dortmund took the lead
but unfortunately http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 spilled this golden opportunity.
This defeat has left Bayern six points short of the Borussians with four games remaining in the competition. Rummenigge admitted that the title is now firmly in Dortmund’s grip and it will be difficult for his side to upstage them
at this stage of the competition.
While speaking to LIGA total, the Chairman further added: "It was an unfortunate unnecessary defeat. I fear that we can't stop Borussia Dortmund from becoming German champions."
On the other hand, the 56-year-old advised his side to forget this bitter loss and concentrate on another important assignment against Real Madrid. The Bavarian giants are due to meet Los Blancos in the UEFA Champions League last-four
with the first-leg to be played at the Allianz Arena on April 17.
"Tonight we mourn, but we are preparing for important games with Real Madrid. We have to put in a top performance," Rummenigge concluded.
Apart from facing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 and FC Koln before the 2011/12 Bundesliga expires next month.
