The German champions have expressed their disappointment on dropping points against FC Nuremberg in their latest Bundesliga encounter.
The Borussians slipped in their second league fixture and dropped two points against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FC-Nuremberg-c38162 at the Stadion Nurnberg on Saturday, September 1. The hosts opened the scoring through Tomas Pekhart in the 31st minute
which was later cancelled out by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jakub-Blaszczykowski-c17616 nine minutes later.
The away side failed to take their chances in the second-half and the score line remained 1-1 at the final whistle. The draw means that Dortmund are now two points behind traditional rival Bayern Munich, who smashed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879
6-1 in their respective fixture.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mats-Hummels-c24767 claimed that his side were certainly not up to the mark when they played Nuremberg this weekend. He admitted that the side needs to step up next week to get back to winning ways and insisted that the players cannot
afford to make mistakes.
“We made life difficult for ourselves with too many mistakes,” the centre-back was quoted as saying.
Club manager Jurgen Klopp supported Hummels’ comments and stated that the team was not consistent throughout the course of the game and called for improvement in the subsequent fixture in the league.
“I got the impression we had far more of the game and played well in the first half, but we're still not at 100 per cent. That's something we need to address,” the manager continued.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcel-Schmelzer-c23530 added that the Borussians were dominant in the first-half, but failed to convert their chances throughout the game. He admitted that the attackers had many opportunities to double the lead in the second-half but
they failed to find the net and the team ended up losing points.
“We were dominant, but we just didn't manage to create enough chances. It's always tough to play here because they always defend very deep,” the defender added.
Borussia Dortmund will next take on Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga at the Signal Iduna Park in what will be a tough fixture for both the teams. On the other hand, Bayern Munich will face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 in a relatively easy fixture.
