Borussia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagwa has insisted that his side could have gained all three points against Bayer Leverkusen. The player rued missed chances and admitted that Dortmund had the opportunities to win the game but
were unable to convert them.
Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen played a 0-0 draw at the BayArena on Saturday as Mario Gotze and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michal-Kadlec-c25422 both saw red. The visitors had most of the chances but failed to convert any of them as they now stand in sixth place
on the Bundesliga standings table with seven points.
Kagawa claimed that his side could have taken all three points at the end of the day against Robin Dutt’s side. He expressed his disappointment on missing a really good chance to score in the first-half and admitted that the goal
could have been vital.
The Japanese international insisted that he is in good form and is creating chances but added that his finishing has not been the best in the recent weeks.
“We could have taken the three points. I missed a good chance to score, it is really regrettable. I am in good form, but there is a lot going on,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to the club’s official website.
The former Cerezo Osaka midfielder hailed goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Weidenfeller-c31655 for his sensational performance in the clash. The shot stopper made a string of excellent saves throughout the match to keep his side fighting until the end.
Kagawa admitted that Weidenfeller kept the Borussians in the match and that he deserves all the credit for that.
“Roman [Weidenfeller] did great, he made some fantastic saves. It was good that we did not concede goals - he really helped us out,” he concluded.
Shinji Kagawa was linked to a host of Premier League clubs in this summer’s transfer window with the likes of Manchester United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Manchester City showing interest in acquiring the Japanese international but he committed
his future to Die Borussen and stated that he is happy to stay.
