Borussia Dortmund have re-signed Nuri Sahin on a 18-month loan with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the spell
The German champions have secured the loan signing of their former player. The midfielder has secured an 18-month contract at the Signal Iduna Park and is likely to play his first game of the year in a Dortmund shirt.
Nuri Sahin was plying his trade at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 on a year-long loan, but his lack of impressive performances had restricted his role to the bench of late. Dortmund had shown interest in the player when the transfer window opened and
were successful in signing the player once Real Madrid agreed.
Club chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke claimed that his side contacted Real Madrid last month on the possibility of a loan move. He stressed that it was a done deal when Madrid agreed as the player was extremely happy on returning to
his former club.
“Back then, we told Real to give us a sign if it was possible to bring Nuri back. We have taken Nuri on loan for 18 months. He left no doubt about the fact that he wanted to play here again,” Watzke was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Sahin admitted that it was a dream move for him to return to Signal Iduna Park. He stated that he is looking forward to playing with his former teammates and wants to give his all in the remaining course of the
season.
The Turkish international is convinced that he can emulate his previous performances despite limited playing time in the last few months.
“I realised that as a footballer and a human being, I belong here 100 per cent. Talks with Dortmund started a week ago. Then, two days ago, we got the signal [from Madrid]. I want to help the team. I am a better player now, even
though I didn't get much playing time,” the player added.
