Mallorca forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giovani-dos-Santos-c14983, feels the reason behind his failed signing to Sevilla for the past 12 months was because the club didn’t want him.
The 23-year-old has joined Real Mallorca in the summer from the English side, Tottenham Hotspur. He hasn’t featured for his new club since then because of a thigh injury, but he will be ready to play against Sevilla tonight.
The Olympic gold winner with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mexico-c2956 during the London 2012 Olympics was hoping join Sevilla in the last 12 months, but somehow his move to the club did not come through.
However, the striker feels the Andalusians did not want him wholeheartedly and that is why they didn’t move for his signing.
“If Sevilla had wanted me then they would have signed me. I honestly believe that they did not want me.”
The Mexican continued and said that even during his time at Mallorca he expected a call from Sevilla, but nothing materialized at the end.
“The best example of that is that I am now with Mallorca. I spent a lot of time waiting for Sevilla but it came to nothing”.
He also commented on how difficult it was for him to understand what was happening back then and has also claimed that Sevilla were not being clear with him.
“They were never 100 per cent clear with me. I spoke to [director of football] Monchi and he told me not to worry, everything would be sorted out, and it was like that until the final day of the transfer market.”
Finally, Dos http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c32532 spoke on the other options he had and the fact that he received offers from other Spanish clubs. He also mentioned that he waited for Sevilla as he was counting on them and trusted them.
“I had other offers, some from Spanish clubs, but had decided I was going to play for Sevilla.”
Real Mallorca and Sevilla have equal points in the Primera Division after collecting 11 points from their first seven games. Tonight they will be facing each other at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ramon-c30533 Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.
