  1. Slow play is the BIGGEST problem going. I blame the pro's. They must really NOT be that good to have to take SO MUCH TIME. The LPGA is cracking down bigtime. They will put the players on the clock if they are to slow, and if they don't go faster, they get a 2 stroke penality. Very expensive in todays world of pro golf. I am a 75 shooter, my son scores better than par ( 65's and 66's are common) and when we tee off at 7am, we are finished by 9.30 am. If we tee off at say 10 o'clock, it takes 4 and a half hours. This is MADDENING. I don't understand how many ways you can look at the same thing. Play faster. Play faster. Stop wasting time for NO REASON. You WILL be a better player by playing FASTER.

  2. the thing that pisses me off the most is people that don't repair the ball mark on the green... buy a repair tool and fix  yours and one other... thank you... "hit 'em straight"

  3. find a local pro to teach you the basics.  i agree with getting a book to learn golf ettiquette and terminology.  the most important thing is how you play and not how well.  i've played with tour professionals who made me miserable and i've had a blast playing with people with handicaps over 20.  if you observe the rules, play quickly, and learn proper ettiquitte you will never have trouble finding people to play with.

  4. enjoy your game

Keep your bat nice and sharp

  5. Three basics:

    1) Learn golf ettiquette.  You can find a plethora of books on the subject.

    2) Learn the rules of golf.  You can buy a copy for a dollar.

    3) Pace of play.

I've played with every type of golfer imaginable.  Give me a twosome new to the game but understand ready golf and how to play fast and who know proper ettiquette any day over a couple of good players who are slow and don't know proper ettiquette.

    It's a great game...good luck!

  6. Buy a book on golf etiquette, always good tips in there. But the most important is the golden rule; "You can be a bad player but don't be a slow player"

  7. Some dos: keep up with pace of play, rake the bunkers, replace divots if possilbe..don'ts talk/move on a person's back swing or putt, stay off a person's putting line..and as someone else suggested a book on ettiqute and rules is very helpful.
