  1. Depends on the daycare you are working in and what the parents are expecting I would think. Check on your regulations from your state too. The schools I have worked in always accommodate children who are vegetarian by having the parent provide something when needed. We just don't serve those children meat. There are many ways to get the protein, vitamins and minerals from vegetarian dishes too. Just get your facts before you attempt this.

  2. Yes.

    I've never nature-related anything, sorry.

  3. You would have to check with state licensing and your health department - I imagine they would want protein in the children's diet.

Nature related crafts - stick people, leaf collages, butterflies out of paper and any insect or animal out of paper plates.  google nature preschool crafts - there are tons of projects out there.

  4. There are many vegetarian foods that are not necessarily declared vegetarian per se. I would just increase the variety of non meat/dairy dishes on the menu and increase the amount of veggies served. There are wonderful vegetarian dishes kids love anyway, like spaghetti with tomato sauce or mashed veggie and potato varieties, maybe spinach pie. Split pea soups or lentil soups and the like.

Although it is convenient for adults to have soy sausages or other meat replacement dishes, I would not recommend serving them in a daycare.

  5. i have no clue about that kind of stuuf srry better luck asking sumeone else

  6. Keep in mind that you should take care of the kids well fare and not turn them into vegetarians.. they are still young.

  7. Nature-related crafts:

How about making creatures made from horse chestnuts, using toothpicks to hold them together?

Or make German throwing chestnuts by attaching crepe paper streamers to a horse chestnut. They 'whoosh' as they fly!

You could make winter tree pictures. Make bark rubbings in crayon, then cut out the shapes of bare trees from the paper and glue them onto card. Later you can add spring flowers and leaves.

How about growing a green wig, using kitchen paper and cress seeds. Kids love this.

If any of these interest you, you'll find full instructions and photos on my site, below.

  9. I am sure you can just keep in mind that some vegetarian food contain nuts and some of the kids may be allergic.
