Dose Building / House security system helps prevent robbery?

It is arguable for a number of reasons.

If the robber is an idiot, he won't check before hand, thus it won't prevent him from breaking in, but as soon as they hear that noise, they get the h**l out of there.  

If the robber is smart, and checks to see if you have a security system, then you bet your *** it's gonna prevent it, no one in their right mind would rob some place that call the cops as soon as you walk in.

Over all, yes, if the robber gets inside the house and the alarm goes out, it's frightening.

Will it always scare them off? No.  But if a robber is set on robbing you to the point where a loud noise like that doesn't scare him off, then nothing short of security dogs will do the trick.

It may not prevent robbery, but it will reduce the loss you would face if in fact your house/building was broken into to

It could delay or prevent, but if a burglar is determined, he can get it, whatever device you have in action

It DOES work or insurance companies would not give you a discount for getting them........
