  1. When you turn it up ,the compressor doesn't run as often so it will use less current.


  2. It uses the same current draw but will not run as long.

  3. The AC part uses the same power, the fan uses more power or less depending on the fan setting.

  4. The temperature setting on a air conditioner is not an accelerator.  The air conditioner is either on or off.  If the room is 100 degrees, the temperature will get to 70 the in the same amount of time whether to set it to 70 or 50.

      The lower you set the temperature, the more often the AC will turn on to maintain that temperature.  So the AC will use more electricity at a lower setting than a higher setting.
