Question:

Dose any one own a gypsy horse?

if you do i want to know how do you clean there hooves, are'nt there feet heavy to pick up to clean?

  1. I don't personally own a gypsy, but I have been around one once. I got to help groom him for a show. Their hooves are heavy, but I didn't feel a major difference. It was a little harder because of their "furry feet", but other than that no. I think that he was trained to actually hold up his feet for you though, because now that I think about it, they are really stocky horses!


  2. I own an Irish Cob which is very close to a Gypsy...

    His feet aren't actually very heavy. Ok, they're heavier than my other horse's feet, but the big feathers help to pick them up. Along with the actual hoof, you also have feathers to hold on to.

    Also, keeping their feathers clean is a NIGHTMARE!! But it's just a case of cleaning them as often as possible.
