Dose anyone know how much is the monthly energy cost for a 2-burner hotplate in average use?

i am thinking to buy a 2-burner hotplate. but i have no idea how much it will cost me monthly for using it. i think i would use it for daily light cooking. normally just dinner. will anyone have an idea, just an estimation of the monthly cost for using it?

  1. There is a good reason that manufactureres will not put an estimated monthly energy usage on these... we use them in such a lot of different ways.

    A single person who uses the unit in lieu of a range, a couiple with 4 kids doing the same, or a family that has a range and uses the hotplate to do an occasional job ehile the range is fully occupied.

    Then we do not know if we are talking someone who uses also an electric frying pan, coffee maker,  electric kettle, and microwave.

    We have a 2 burner hotplate, and use it an average of 20 minutes on one burner each day, which might get us to .8 kw * 1/3 hour  * 30 days, or about 8 kWh per month.

    Now our electricity costs 18 cents/kWh  so we would be using $1.44 a month.

    However, the plate has a thermostat that has the current off more than it is on, so I expect it is less than a dollar a month.
