Dose anyone know what the laws for changing your name in the state of nevada?

Im a minor (16) and I have some questions about changing my name..Do I have to post my name change in the paper? Do both of my parents have to say that I can? I live with my mother seeing as my parents are getting a divorce, since I live with her dose my father's opinion matter??

I would like to know as much as i can on this matter, so any info would be so very helpful. Thanks

  1. The easiest way for you as a minor to do it right now is to get it done as part of the divorce decree.   The judge can simply order it done along with his order on custody, child support and etc.   If you want to be with your mother,  then you can inform her divorce lawyer of your desires and he can present them as part of the divorce package.   If your father fights it,  you can simple stand in front of the judge and say that if your father fights it, you will simply do it as an independent action outside the divorce.   There really is no way he can prevent it in the long run so the reasonable thing for him to do is let you do what you want.  

    If the judge does not allow it,   simply wait until you are 18 and do it as an adult.  No one can stop you at that time.
