  1. I would get him to the vet, sudden weight loss may be something to do with the kidneys, the kitty is getting on in years and needs to be checked out

  2. I assume you mean 13.5 pounds.

Please get this cat to a vet - there is something seriously wrong.

  3. take him to a vet and get blood work done, i would guess it's his thyroids. This needs to be taken care of immediately, as if the thyroids are not treated the other organs begin to shut down such as the kidneys. Please see a vet as soon as you can.

  4. Your weights say 18 to 31.5 and that he is losing? If he really is losing weight then hyperthyroidism and kidney disease could be indicated.  A profile and the vets could tell you what you could do to help.  Diabetes is also a possibility.

  5. Weight loss is usually a grave sign in senior cats. However, some cats actually become too thin as they get older, apparently as part of the normal aging process.Progressive weight loss on the other hand be caused by serious medical problems such as kidney failure, cancer, diabetes mellitus, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, hyperthyroidism, or some other condition. Subtle changes in weight are often the first sign of disease and should not be taken too lightly either. Please get your cat to the vet as soon as possible to get a thorough health screen.
