  1. The South Pole is on the Antarctic continent - big.

The North Pole is, as far as I can remember, on  sea ice.

How is this different? Antarctica is above sea level; the Arctic is a Sea, so is sea level.  Mt Erebus, as 9000 feet or more, is the highest mountain on Antarctica.

The North Pole is about 450 miles (725 km) north of Greenland in the middle of the Arctic Ocean - the sea there has a depth of 13,410 feet (4087 meters). Most of the time, sea ice covers the North Pole but recently, water has been sighted at the exact location of the pole.

  2. Antarctica is the larger landmass, and this is because it is a landmass rather than being a lot of ice on the Arctic Ocean.

  3. North Pole is not land. South Pole(Antarctica) is land. Therefore, south pole is bigger.

  4. The North Pole, magnetic and true, is situated on Sea Ice and therefore has no land surface.

The South Pole, magnetic and true, is located on the continent of Antarctica, 14 million sq km (280,000 sq km ice-free, 13.72 million sq km ice-covered) (est.)

note: fifth-largest continent, following Asia, Africa, North America, and South America, but larger than Australia and the subcontinent of Europe
