Dot Or Feather, the most appealing option in Ladbrokes Conditional Jockeys´ Handicap Chase at Worcester
After a good second on stable debut on Sunday, Mrs K Burke’s charge, Dot Or Feather, looks to be the most appealing option in Ladbrokes Conditional Jockeys´ Handicap Chase, an uncompetitive affair, taking place at Worcester on Thursday, October 11, 2012.
The 7-year-old is not one of the consistent winners, but deserves respect on his very good effort on debut for Elaine Burke at Uttoxeter. The son of Indian Danehill returned to action after a break of more than three months.
Under the care of Ian Williams, he started off his 2012 campaign on a high, when clinching a convincing win on the first of this year. On Fakenham’s soft surface, he demonstrated an excellent show to secure the first place easily by 4½ lengths in the Ronald
Bees-Phillips Amateur Riders' Handicap Chase.
Another impressive effort was shown by him at Huntingdon in March. In the Part Exchange With Barratt Homes Handicap Chase (Betfair Chase Series Qualifier), he ran well in the hands of Harry Skelton to capture the second spot. Although he completely failed
to trouble Sound Accord, he beat rest of the pack quite comprehensively.
After making two wonderful trips at the start of this year, the Denarius Consulting Ltd-owned suddenly lost momentum and as a result, faced a few embarrassing defeats. Bred by G. J. Hamilton, the bay gelding joined Mrs K. Burke’s yard at the start of this
month, and made his first outing under the care of new handler a few days ago.
It was certainly a fantastic act. Ridden by Dave Crosse, the 25-1 chance led in the middle stages, but soon gave away his advantage. Staying on same pace in the last 50 yards hurt his objective badly and eventually, he missed the first place by a couple
of lengths in the Farley Landscape Services Matlock - 01629 57884 Handicap Chase.
Dot Or Feather seems to have gained momentum following a good run, and will be a tough one to tackle in today’s class 5 meeting, which will be held over Worcester’s good two miles and four furlongs. The schedule is to kick off the £3,054 event at 14:00 GMT.
