Dota 2 Heroes Profile: Razor the Lightning Revenant

Introduction
Razor the Lightning Revenant is a ranged agility-carry hero who has the capacity to drastically turn the odds in the favour of his team because of his abilities.
He is fast, he can manipulate lightning and he can steal the damage of his foes while leaving them as weak as a little girl. His ability to dominate his target in a one-on-one situation, as well as a pretty reliable way to retreat in case the odds become
against him is something that makes him really hard to kill.
The skills at his disposal enable him to start harassing his opponents from the word go, significantly affecting their farming and leaving them vulnerable during late game.
First skill: Plasma Field
Razor’s first skill is named Plasma Field. It is an active ability that causes the Lightning Revenant to release an electric ring that first expands away from him up and upon reaching an Area of Effect (AoE) of 795, returns back. The ring deals damage to
any enemy it makes contact with, though the amount of damage is determined by how far the ring was from Razor when it struck the enemy. The further the ring is from Razor, the more damage it deals to the enemy and vice versa. The maximum amount of damage dealt
by the ring is 370, whereas the minimum damage amounts to 180.
The skill is extremely effective in farming, harassing enemies and also dealing a significant amount of damage to them. This skill is normally maxed out as soon as possible due to obvious reasons that have already been stated.
Second Skill: Static Link
Static Link is Razor’s second ability and pretty much his main tool of destruction. Activating the ability forms a link between the Lightning Revenant and his target, allowing him to steal 28 damage per second. The duration of the damage-stealing process
is eight seconds, enabling Razor to steal 224 damage. Razor retains the stolen damage for 18-26 seconds once the damage-stealing process is over.
A few things to keep in mind about Static Link is that allowing the target to move too far away, 675 units to be more precise, or out of one’s sight causes the link to break. One more thing to take note of is that placing the link on the ground causes it
to travel and attach itself to the first enemy that it comes in contact within a 200 range.
As the skill pretty much fulfils Razor’s damage requirements, it is a common practice to go for tanking items on him in order to increase his endurance capacity.
Third Skill: Unstable Current
Unstable Current is Razor’s third skill. It is a passive ability that permanently increases the movement speed of Razor by 12 percent, which synergises extremely well with his Static Link ability. In addition to this, the skill causes any enemy targeting
him directly with a spell to take 100 damage and get purged, getting totally stripped of any positive buffs that it may have on it. The purge also slows down their speed for a duration of 1.2 seconds.
Ultimate: Eye of the Storm
The Lightning Revenant’s ultimate is named Eye of the Storm. When activated, it will form a storm cloud over Razor’s head, which will follow him anywhere he goes for up to 30 seconds. The cloud will strike a target with the lowest health within a 500 AoE,
dealing them 62.5 damage every 0.6 seconds. The lightning strike by the cloud also reduces the armour of the target by 1 on each attack.
Aghanim’s Scepter can be picked up by the Lightning Revenant. It improves his ultimate by boosting the attack time from 0.6 seconds to 0.5 seconds, while also making the ultimate work on buildings.
Razor is indeed a force to be reckoned with and contributes heavily to the success of his team. Remember that your Static Link gives you enough damage-dealing potential, so it is strongly recommended to go for tanking items in order to increase your impact
in the game.
