Dota 2 Heroes Spotlight: Tequoia the Nature’s Prophet
Introduction
Tequoia the Nature’s Prophet, normally referred to as simply Prophet or Furion, is a rather atypical ranged intelligence hero.
Despite having intelligence as his primary attribute, he is heavily reliant on his physical attack damage. His mana-consuming abilities are nothing to laugh at, but it is his capacity to make enemies bleed through physical attacks that really make him an
impactful hero. Additionally, rather than serving the role of a support hero, he is normally played as a carry, farming across the map to get to his core items. He also possesses excellent ganking abilities, one that will have the enemy heroes looking over
their shoulders at throughout the course of the game, while also a strong lane pusher. He is indeed one of the most versatile heroes in Defense of the Ancients (Dota) 2.
Sprout
Furion’s first ability is called Sprout. It is an active skill that can be used to trap an enemy within a ring of trees. The radius of the trees is 150 units. The trees can also be summoned at a point on the ground, which can come in real handy in certain
situations. Enemies can be trapped within trees for up to 5.25 seconds once the skilled Is maxed out. This gives Furion plenty of time to dish out physical damage to the trapped enemy.
Creating a ring of trees on ground can help you to block an enemy from reaching you or your ally. To use this effectively, one needs to have a bit of map awareness.
While the 5.25 duration of Sprout seems like a great deal of time, the skill can be easily countered through the use of Quelling Blade, which has an active ability to chop trees.
Teleportation
Teleportation is Nature Prophet’s second skill. It is this ability that makes him a really fearful hero as it allows him to teleport to any explored area on the map. With a cast time of three seconds and a visible effect at the point that he is teleporting
to, enemies will not be caught completely off guard. The ability combined with his first skill Sprout gives him an unmatched ganking capacity. The low cool-down of the skill further increases the utility of the skill.
Nature’s Call
Furion’s third skill is named Nature’s Call. The ability allows him to transform trees into treants. At its highest level and when placed on enough trees, Furion will be able to create up to five treants. Each treant deals up to 21 to 23 damage, while having
550 hit-points (HP). These treants also have a 33 percent magical resistance. The units can be controlled by the player. These cuddly treants help Nature’s Prophet to push lanes effectively.
Wrath of Nature
Now let us come to Nature Prophet’s ultimate Wrath of Nature. It is a global ability that can deal up to 225 damage while targeting random visible units across the map. At its maximum level, each unit hit behind the first will causes the skill to deal an
additional 7 percent damage to the maximum of 16 units. The skill improves his capacity to push lanes even further and can also prove useful to take out low-health heroes.
Aghanim’s Scepter can be picked up by Furion, improving the base damage of the skill from 225 to 275, while increasing the maximum number of targets allowed from 16 to 18.
Prophet is indeed a powerhouse when it comes to dealing damage and therefore it is recommended to go for damage-boosting items when playing with him. Intelligence-boosting items such as Hex work well on him as well.
