Question:

Dotty, almost vibrating vision.?

I asked this question yesterday, but I wasn't able to get a clear answer on what this could be, if it's normal or not, or if others even have it.

Basically.. if I look at the wall beside my monitor, I see tiny little microscopic (almost molecular in size) dots, almost.. vibrating.. I see it everywhere, and I've been seeing it for years (my last eye doc checkup was 2 years ago).

It's not floaters, and I'm pretty sure it's not that entopic phenomenon that people are talking about, with the colored dots bouncing around in the daylight (although I do have this). I do however notice that in the daylight, my described vibration issue disappears and I see the phenomenon thing.

Anyways, I'm going in for a checkup next wednesday, and I'm going to be asking for them to check for retina detachment.

I'm just curious if this is anything anyone has heard of, if it's normal or not, and if anybody else has it?

  1. hey the doctor can answer all your questions

but it also depends on how you maintain your eyes like do you expose your eyes to too much sun or are you careless while washing your hair(the shampoo getting into the eyes)

  2. You've asked this five times?  It must be really troubling you.

What you describe isn't normal, and examinations to eliminate underlying pathology should be done.

But the best match to your symptems is the not-fully-undertood and still somewhat controversial phenomenon of "visual stress", treated by very specific coloured overlays or tinted glasses.

(Also known as Irlen, Meares-Irlen or Scotopic sensitivity syndrome)
