Dotty Darroch heads on for her second success of the season in the Stars Of The Future Apprentice Handicap (Division I)
Beverley will become home for the Class 6 Stars Of The Future Apprentice Handicap (Division I) on Tuesday, 26th June over five furlongs. Ten, three-year-old and above runners have registered for the event.
Robin Bastiman’s under charge, Dotty Darroch, is supported with 4 to 1 odds today. Ad Valorem’s four-year-old bay filly has been active four times ever since the season kicked off.
She penetrated her 2012 campaign on 14th April in the 32Redpoker.Com Handicap at Newcastle over five furlongs, and finished eighth in a field of thirteen that was won by, Shawkantango.
The winner defeated the 11 to 10 favourite runner-up of the race, Boucher Garcon, by just ¾ of a length.
Filling up the third position was Sally’s Swansong.
Her very next try was in the Racing UK On Sky 432 Handicap on 6th May at Hamilton over five furlongs.
Dotty Darroch won the race with Daniel Tudhope aboard, and the two narrowly edged past, Here Now And Why, by ¾ of a length.
Racing across the wire third in line behind the winner was, Lady Del Sol.
Her third outing of the season was a disappointing seventh place finish in the Support The House That Jack Built Apprentice Handicap on 25th May at Catterick over a distance of five furlongs.
The race was won by, Chosen One, while settling right next was Sophie’s Beau. The 4 to 1 favourite of the race, Sharp Shoes, filled the fourth spot.
On 13th June, she claimed the Jinyu – Tyregiant.Com Handicap (Division I) at Beverley over five furlongs. Sophie’s Beau won the race, and set Dotty Darroch as the runner-up, while finishing 3 ¾ lengths ahead of her.
Her fifth attempt of the season will be in partnership with Conor Harrison. The two will break from the first stall.
This will be the straight second try of the McMaster Springford Partnership owned at Beverley
This adds to the already favourable elements that have enhanced her chances of striking the second success of the season.
The rest of the line-up seems to be pretty harmless, that is why, Dotty Darroch, should have no excuse for failing in this race.
