It was a highly impressive entry into the new season and Double Handful did justice to being entered as the favourite of the race.
Earning to be a favourite in the second venture of the season too, Double Handful won the Sis Live Handicap Hurdle on 16th January at Plumpton over two miles. He was the 2/5 favourite winner on the lineup of five with David Bass onboard yet again.
Joining the winner on the other end of the wire was Wheres Johnny and parking right after the runner up was Forest Rhythm.
Trainer Lawney Hill could not have wished for a better start of the new campaign for the six-year-old who was unbeaten in the first two races of the season.
Double Handful’s third task of the season that was to entitle him to a hat trick turned out to be a second position in the Emma Lavelle Racing Novices’ Handicap Hurdle on 2nd March at Newbury over two miles and half a furlong. Double Handful stationed
right next to the 13/8 favourite winner of the race, Charm School, who led the runner up by five lengths.
This time Double Handful was riding with Barry Geraghty.
Today he is in for the fourth start of the season and has quite strong chances of bagging the third victory.
