Well I was wondering? Could you get a double major in Political Science and Mass Communications? Would this have to be apart of a program of the college? How long would it take? REAL informative answers please. I am at a baffle over this because I want to major in both really bad. I want to be become Television Corresspondant (spell check)? Preferably for Politics or Entertainment (<--especially BET, thats my dream!)

  1. double majoring is a great thing to do! and political science and mass comm are a great pair (i actually have a friend that did that). at most colleges you have to take a ton of classes for your elective credits anyway so why not use those extra credits you have to complete towards another major. if you're really interested in a certain area anyway (like political science) you'd probably end up taking lots of those classes for your electives, right?

the best thing to do is meet with an adviser to find out the specifics for your school. they can explain how to go about applying for a double major and how you use your second major's classes towards your elective hours. it might sound a little complicated, i'm not sure if i'm confusing your more haha but an adviser would be able to explain it better.

if you know what you want your 2 majors to be starting out your freshman year, you really shouldn't have to be in school any longer than if you only had one major. if anything you might end up doing an extra semester, but lots of people end up with that anyway.

all colleges are different so you'd really have to talk to someone at your college to get the best info. if you have any other general questions though feel free to email me!
