Double Neck Guitars?

why is it that most dbl neck guitars are SG's or Sg based

cuz making one is not easy. most manufacturers wont even try it. it is also cost prohibitive because not many of them are sold. gibson/epihone is prob the only large copany making them in any quantity.

That is the most appropriate body to use. Don't forget that the extra weight of the body and extra necks would make the guitar too heavy is we used a Les Paul body.

In any case, the guitar has to have a flat top to accomodate the second neck which , in my knowledge, the SG is the best to work with.

Richenbacker also make a 6 string and Bass guitar as double neck. That guitar is also flat body to accomodate different necks.
