Question:

Double Stroller Question...?

I'm looking to purchase a double stroller for my current 10 month old and my newborn due in October. Since they are fairly close I would like to purchase a double stroller that will last me for some time. My husband and I were debating on a combi side by side stroller but I was concerned with being able to get through a single door. And then with the tandem stroller (one seat behind the other) we are concerned that it may be a bit bulky and take up much needed space in our trunk but it may be easier to manuever. So my question for you all... what would you recommend for our concerns?

  1. I have a Tandem Stroller...

Pros: Easy to manuever in stores/doors; lots of storage room when oldest is not in stroller!

Cons: Takes up my whole trunk; the baby likes to pull the hair of my oldest, so oldest has to go in back (intended for babies so they can lay down) and baby has to sit in front...but not a huge deal

  2. sears has one by eddie bauer. It is tandem, but it is the smallest one I have ever seen. It collapses like a regular stroller. you could check that out. hope this helps.

  3. We got the side-by-side, for our oldest two, when they were toddlers, and it worked pretty well... We'll get another one, when I have this last baby, since we'll have two toddlers, again.

The ones that are front/back aren't that easy to maneuver; they are heavy, and turning can be tricky... It's very easy to maneuver the side-by-side... We even used it at our Tulsa State Fair, which is crowded as all heck, and we were fine... Another bonus is that both children get a front-row seat. :)

P.S. We didn't have any problems getting through doorways, either.

  4. Go with the tandem stroller I have one for my twins and it's working fine. The side by side stroller doesn't work well when your going to the zoo and you want to stop and eat and then you can't fit through the doorway and then the tables are getting blocked up with the stroller or you have to go in a doorway and your stroller gets stuck.

  5. The side by sides are great for outdoor events, i think they are a little sturdier but they are a pain to get into stores and some stores have aisles that are too close to get around.  The front to back seem to have tiny wheels but are easier in stores.  They honestly take up the same amout of room in your car just in different ways.  Sooooo my recommendation would be front to back for stores but side by side if you will use it mostly for outdoors

  6. I like the combi side by side. It folds up really small, you won't have to worry about either child not being able to see when they start getting bigger, it is light weight, and it fits through single doors.
