Double Your Money has good prospects in Berkeley Scott Nursery at Chester
Mark Johnston’s 2-year-old, Double Your Money, was pretty impressive at the end of last month, when he registered his maiden win at Southwell.
In the Ladbrokes Game On! Maiden Stakes, the novice unleashed his talent, and secured the first rank easily by five lengths. Marhaba Malayeen, who won a nursery this week, looked helpless in front of Double Your Money, ridden by Joe Fanning.
In the hands of the same jockey, the son of Shamardal will look to carry forward his good work in the Berkeley Scott Nursery, which is scheduled to take place at Chester on Friday, September 14, 2012.
Double Your Money’s latest act was certainly quite fascinating, as it came only a few days after an embarrassing defeat at Nottingham. Owned by A. D. Spence, the juvenile failed to live up to the expectations on his debut in mid August.
Staying on one pace did not help his cause in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes. As a result, he could only seize the fifth place behind Cour Valant.
There is some moisture in Chester’s ground, but it should not a concern for Double Your Money, who registered his last triumph on a standard track. Today’s class 3 meeting is set to get started at 14:10 GMT. In search of a cash prize worth £7,116, half a
dozen quality runners are due to lock horns.
Baddilini is under 6lb penalty after a classy 6-furlong win at Haydock last week. On a firm ground, the Alan Bailey-trained went right in the beginning. Despite being shaken up a couple of furlongs before the wire, the 12-1 chance did not lose confidence.
He edged left inside the final furlong, and ran on to lead towards the finish. A fine show guided him to an easy 1-length success in the Betfred "Bonus King Bingo" Nursery.
Baddilini usually prefers hard surface, thus it is unsure whether he will be able to come up with a flawless performance on good to soft. So, the best choice will be Double Your Money, who seems to have no issues whatsoever. We wish the best of luck to all
the runners.
