Question:

(Double ended jack) Can I use just one jack on each end of this lead instead of both?

If so, will the quality be affected or will something be 'missing' in the recording because it has only been able to pick up from one side?

Sorry if this is unclear... here is what I mean about the double ended jack:

Thanks in advance for any help.

  1. OK, what are you using the cable for (going from what equipment to what equipment)?

If the output source only has one port (socket) and the input (recording destination) has only one socket then you could *but* only if BOTH are mono ports. If they're stereo ports then you'll need a cable that has tip/ring/sleeve on each end instead of just tip/sleeve:

    tip ring:

    EDIT:

Yup, if that's what you're using it for then it'll work fine, as long as you use the same colour for both ends (ie: only the red lead or only the white, not one from each)

  2. you will only have to use one and the quality shouldn't be affected because your product probably only has one jack so that is its maximum output.
