Double ended speed bag help?

double ended speed bag, with only 7 ft to work with. what is the best for me i am 5'9, the cables included r too long so i bought some jumper cables, i cant really work with any upercut combos cuase i comes off the hooks...the top jumper cable i have folded in half and the bag does not seem evasive enough...its just really tight, i want the bag around my head like a real opponent. not sure what to do

  1. Sounds like you have the elastic cord attached to the top of the bag and the nylon rope on the bottom. Switch the elastic cord to the bottom instead of the top.  You may be able to use the original one rather than the new ones you bought.  That should put the bag around head height and you'll get more action from the bag that way.  

    If I'm mis-reading and you have the cord attached to the bottom already, you can tie a loop knot a few inches down on the bag and use the loop to secure the bag at any height you want.  You may need to re-tie it occasionally.

    Also, go to a hardware store and get some quick clips - hooks that have spring-loaded closure.  They are shaped a little like peanuts and will keep the bag from popping off the S hooks that you are probably using.  Heavy Zip Ties work well if you secure them through the ring on the bag and the chain, but they wear eventually and you can't move the bag to a different location.

    With only 7 feet height to set the bag up you won't get the full action you really want, but you can make do.  Good luck.
