  1. although every thing seems lined up,,,but what the problem is,,,the hook is not lined up with  the striker plate on the door jam,,,,, striker plate   may need adjusting in or out on the jam,,,or up and down,, apply some lip stick to the hook or plunger,,,close the door,,,turn the key or k**b real firmly,,,this will  put a mark on where the hook or plunger is hitting,,,then you can adjust as needed

  2. You may have to file the hole the deadbolt slides into. It may move slightly up or down a fraction of an inch when the other components are in place. You also may want to try to loosen the bottom screws just a little on the bottom of the door hinge and tighten just a little on the top or vise versa. The door may just be off a bit.

  3. The door has dropped slightly, happens all the time. Try this, close the door ,lift it by the handle and then lift the handle to engage the mechanism. To lift the door look on top of your hinges and you will see a plastic cover, take that off and using an alen key or hex key turn the stud clockwise to lift the door. If it's not on the top of the hinge it will be on the underside of the hinge, all depends what system it is.

    good luck

  4. If as you say it all works when open, then there has to be some retriction on the frame, not allowing full movement of the mechanism...try again but carefully...
