Double jointed thumbs??? Yeh, I know... "Gross."?

Hi Guys!

A strange question maybe... i have double jointed thumbs, not exactly 90 degrees but definitely bent. My daughter has them too... presumably from me because my wife doesn't have them.

Must I have inherited this from one of my birth parents? Or is it recessive? Any point to it? Evolutionary benefit? It sure doesn't help with press-ups, or pushing in drawing pins.

Genetically double jointedness is a dominant trait - you passed on the trait to your daughter.

what is wrong with it? yes you got it from your parents or maybe their parents......i don't think it is a problem in middle east where am from they say it is luck to have that. so be happy!
