Question:

Double major in computer engineering and japanese?

has anyone done this? do you think its worth it? or should i just minor in japanese?

  1. If you want to work in Japan as an engineer or maybe at a Japanese company overseas, then go for it.


  2. lol history isn't the same as engineering but my goal is similar.  Being bilingual in any field is a benefit.  In particular a southern asian language could be helpful in the computer/electronics industry.

  3. I have not.  My friend did a double major in Art History and Italian and got a killer job at Google. Her stock was worth $500k after working there for a few yrs and ended up quiting to travel the world with her husband that she met at google. (His stock was worth the same!)  It was because of the language part that she got hired! She has never used the art history part of her degree, as of yet.

  4. it would definitely be worth it to double major for sure! but computer engineering is one of the hardest majors there is so with the double major will come a MAJOR workload!  an engineering major in itself is a handful!!!
